Crafted in 14 carat yellow gold (585) as a classic "Carved Half-Hoop Ring" with five alternating stones: three rubies and two brilliant-cut diamonds in a continuous claw setting, framed by elaborately hand-engraved volute scrolls on both sides.
The style dates back to the Victorian and Edwardian jewelry tradition (approx. 1880–1910). The execution with modern brilliant-cut diamonds and the freshness of the piece suggest a German or Austrian reproduction from the 1960s to 1980s – a style known as "Victorian Revival" which experienced a small renaissance during this period.
The combination of ruby and diamond is one of the oldest love symbols in European jewelry history: ruby stands for passion and loyalty, diamond for eternity.
